How to Login

How to sign in to your chromebook for the first time

Step 1: Power on your device

Step 2: Sign-in

Enter your KV email address (********@kv.k12.in.us), then click Next.

Sign-in to your chromebook, enter KV email address

Step 3: Enter your KV password, click Next.

All set, you are now ready to start using your chromebook!

Remember if you have forgotten your username or password your can find that information in Family Access. For directions see troubleshooting tips.

You can use your Chromebook's touchpad to right-click, switch between tabs and more. Here's how it works:

Move the pointer	Move your finger across the touchpad.
Click	Press or tap the lower half of the touchpad.
Right-click	Press or tap the touchpad with two fingers. You can also press Alt, then click with one finger.
Scroll	Place two fingers on the touchpad and move them up and down to scroll vertically, or left and right to scroll horizontally.
Move between pages	To go back to a page you were just on, swipe left with two fingers. To go forward to a page you were just on, swipe right with two fingers.
See all open windows	To see all open windows, swipe up with three fingers. To close it, swipe down with three fingers.
Close a tab	Point to the tab, then tap or click the touchpad with three fingers.
Open a link in a new tab	Point to the link, then tap or click the touchpad with three fingers.
Switch between tabs	If you have multiple browser tabs open, swipe left or right with three fingers.
Open or close overview	To open overview, swipe up with three fingers. To close it, swipe down with three fingers.
Switch between virtual desks	If you have multiple desks open, swipe left or right with four fingers.
Drag and drop	Using one finger, click and hold the item you want to move. Drag the item to its new spot, then release your finger.

If your student has forgotten their username or password you can find that information in Family Access. Go to the Kankakee Valley School Website, Parent Tab, then click on Family Access Login. Once you login you will click Online Forms on the left hand side, click fill out form, then you will see the student Password, clcik that and it will bring up the Username and Password. Example pictured below.

*Students must bring their device to school every day and make sure it is fully charged.

*Device Spare Equipment and Lending - If a student’s 1:1 device is inoperable, the school has a limited number of sparedevicesfor usewhile the student’s device is repaired or replaced. There is no guarantee a loaner will be available for devices that the student neglected to charge or left at home. Charging the device is part of being properly prepared for school.
