Welcome  to the Food Service Department of Kankakee Valley School Corporation.  We strive to provide nutritionally balanced meals according to the United States Department of Agriculture National School Breakfast and Lunch Child Nutrition Programs. Our goal is to encourage healthy choices to our students by offering a variety of foods that meet the dietary standards of the program at a reasonable cost. By providing nutritionally sound meals, students will have the ability to maintain excellence in the classrooms. We are also apart of the Offer vs. Serve Program. Please click here to be understand what offer vs. serve means to your student.

Our menus and meal prices are located on each of our five schools main page under Lunch Menus. Every menu has been analyzed to meet strict federal standards to ensure a healthy and well balanced meal for our students, staff, and guests. We also offer free and reduced-priced meals to families who are eligible according to the federal income guidelines. If you are in need of assistance, please click on a link below that fits your needs. Print out an application that is suited to your language and please bring to the corporation office or school your child attends. Also, on our website, at kv.k12.in.us, there is an ONLINE application. Simply log into your Family Access through Skyward and click on your child's name. You only need to fill one application out for all students. If you have any questions or concerns about this program or any other food service questions, please contact our Food Service Department and we will be glad to assist you.

NEW YEAR FOR 2020/2021

Kankakee Valley Food Service Department has been working very hard to make sure our students will have the best nutritional food with our very best safety measures in place. Their safety, as well as our staff, is our number one priority. We assure you that we have taken all recommendations by our Health Department seriously and will implement them to our very best. We are looking forward to a great school year and are happy to have students back on site!!

VIRTUAL LEARNERS

For our virtual learners, we haven't forgotten you. We can also provide you with a daily FREE breakfast and lunch. Please use the School tabs to find menus for the school you will be picking meals up from.  The following is pick up times at each school:

 
WES Door 6 10:30 to 10:45
 
DES Door 10 10:30 to 10:45
 
Students will be served that schools menu from pick up. However, based on the Google Form submitted, the student will get his or her nutritional requirements for their age group. Please click on and fill out the Google Order Form the night before in order to be on the pick up list the next day. FREE Meals for all KV STUDENTS 
 
Starting October 1, USDA has issued a waiver for all enrolled students at Kankakee Valley to receive ONE FREE Breakfast and ONE FREE Lunch a day if they choose to participate. Middle School and High School students are still allowed to receive a second meal at full price.  This waiver has been issued for the rest of the school year or until funds have been depleted. Thank you for your participation in our meal program!
