Due to the COVID-19 pandemic during the 2019-2020 school year and the continued stress on our medical community, the Indiana High School Athletic Association as approved by the Kankakee Valley School Board, will waive the provisions of Rule 3-10 for the 2020-2021 school year. Effective immediately, valid physical and consent forms that were presented to our athletic office on behalf of eligible students during the 2019-2020 school year will be valid during the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.

What does this mean to the KVMS student athletes? The physicals that you submitted last year, as long as they were dated and signed after April 1, 2019, will be valid for the 2020-2021 school year. All the physicals are on file in the office. Incoming 6th graders, Mr. Shank has saved your physicals from last year and will be bringing them to the middle school to be filed.

If you did not participate in athletics at KVMS or KVIS last year, you will need to contact your family physician to get a physical and complete the necessary paperwork. Your physical will need to be turned into the KVMS office at your earliest convenience.

Current 8th graders, your physicals will be sent to Mr. Gray, KVHS Athletic Director. However, you may need to contact your physician and ask if they would be able to transfer the information from your middle school physical form to the IHSAA physical form to comply with the IHSAA and KVHS regulations. If not, you will need to make an appointment with your family physician to get a new physical.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Ridley at your earliest convenience.  Thank you.
