Dr. Aaron Case
I would like to personally welcome you to Kankakee Valley School’s website! KV is excited that you have taken the time to check us out. Our school district is comprised of five schools: DeMotte Elementary School, Wheatfield Elementary School, Kankakee Valley Intermediate School, Kankakee Valley Middle School, and Kankakee Valley High School. KV covers over 200 square miles and serves over 3400 students. Although we encompass a large area, we are proud of our small school feel. As we walk through our doors every morning, we will put our students first because our goal is to make KV a school where students are excited about learning. We will spark this excitement by engaging them in relevant learning opportunities that interest and challenge them to think critically. We believe these actions will produce young people readily equipped to take on and change the world.
Over the past couple of years, KV has continued its tradition of keeping the student first. KV implemented the Professional Learning Community concept that focuses teachers’ efforts in a collaborative way to ask the essential questions critical to our students’ success. Every Wednesday, time is set aside for teachers to meet and collaborate on improving instruction and student achievement.
1:1 is also an important component of the way we do business here at KV. Students in grades 6-12 have Chromebooks which allows KV to offer a blended learning environment taking advantage of the best of the traditional and digital classroom. Students also have devices in grades K-5 available to each of them while in the classroom. We want all of our students prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century.
KV provides diversified programs and opportunities for all students to be engaged through its numerous clubs, athletics, and activities. Our music program continues to grow as more students are getting involved. Research shows that if students participate in extra-curricular activities, they are more successful. KV is committed to meeting the needs of each student educationally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
We encourage you to take an “electronic” tour through the website and learn about our Corporation. We also encourage you to visit our district and see the many great things that are happening in our schools every day. We’re excited to welcome you to the Valley and look forward to providing your children with a challenging education that builds academic competence, encourages creativity, promotes lifelong learning, and fosters respect for self and others.
